Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. He was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, he finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
