Clair Obscur Triumphs at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards took place this past week, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the top winner. The breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the studio's triumph, the gifted cast also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English was named Top Lead Actor for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Actor for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio was honored as Best Development Team. In total, Clair Obscur and its creative team collected seven awards during the show.
Other standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. Notably, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the audience, with only 4 awards—Critics’ Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers’ Choice—judged by critics.
